The Inland Ladies is a collection
of published and unpublished stories about Midwestern women
who come from such towns as Chicago, Omaha, and Mason City,
Iowa. The stories advance through the decades, exploring lives
in the last half of the 20th century. The first story begins
in 1949, the last story is set in 2004.
Laurie Levy is a prolific Chicago
journalist and contributes to many national publications.
She has published three books of nonfiction, and The Inland
Ladies is her first short story collection. She has been
a fashion editor, restaurant critic, travel writer, ghostwriter,
and columnist while publishing short stories in literary magazines.
Laurie is also a wife, mother, and grandmother. She lives
in Chicago. |
