Read, Recycle and Save

Books take up a lot of space in your home and/or apartment, not to mention the effort required to relocate those books when you move. Sometimes the only option is to dispose of these books to lighten your load.

Simply throwing away your used books may be the easiest solution, but perhaps not the best when you consider the impact the waste has on our environment. If only there was program that would reward you for recycling your books. If only...

Good news, Barbara's has come up with just such a program and here is how it works:
Bring your used (lightly read) books to either Barbara's Bookstore Oak Park or Barbara's Bookstore UIC and donate them to others in need and we will give you a one percent discount for every pound of books donated, up to a maximum discount of 20% for qualifying donations, good towards a future purchase.

The books will be donated to various organizations throughout Chicagoland that are desperately in need of books (Reading is Fundamental, Project Books to name a couple).

Help us help others and save the world at the same time. It's a 'can't-miss'.
Discount cannot be combined with any other offer. See store for details.
