Barbara's BookMarket in the Glen Town Center is your good old-fashioned bookstore complete with knowledgeable, friendly staff in an atmosphere that will make you want to linger.  We opened our doors on August 31st, 2009 and are proud to be an independently run "bricks and mortar"

establishment amid the sea of corporate chains. 

If you don't find what you're looking for, we

are happy to special order it for you.  We also have a beautiful events space and host a variety of happenings, ranging from author appearances, book signings, open mic nights, holiday events, book clubs, corporate meetings, gallery shows, and free children's storytime that takes place every Tuesday at 4:00pm and every Thursday at 10:30am.

Bring the little ones along and enjoy our great kid's corner complete with a cozy place to hang out and read.  Not only do we have loads of classic and contemporary titles, we also stock a wide array of children's puzzles, activity sets, toys, games, educational activity materials, Melissa & Doug products and more!

The BookMarket offers a 20% discount to teachers, librarians, and education administrators on everything except magazines and bargain/sale items.  We offer 15% off to military and former

Glenview Naval Air Station Personnel on everything except magazines and bargain/sale items. Every Tuesday is Senior Discount Day - Everyone 55 or older receives 10% off all products except (you guessed it) magazines and bargain/sale items.
